The
Local Arrangements Committee is responsible for facilitating the annual
conference for the Association of Social and Behavioral Scientists. It is
charged with the responsibilities of identifying a hotel, negotiating
service contracts, soliciting advertisements, and contacting other potential
program resources. As the conference moves across the United States,
new members join the organization and assume local activities.
Therefore, to ensure the success of each new committee, the Executive Board of
ASBS assigned an individual to update the Local Arrangements
Manual. Patricia Mc-Gill-Tillman, former board member and past president,
chaired the committee which included McKinley Alexander, Jr. and Mary
B. Myles. The group revised the
Local Arrangements Manual. It is available for
downloading in Adobe (pdf) format: For more information, contact: Patricia
